5-DAY ONLINE FOUNDATION MEDIATION COURSE
Join the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC[1] (the Association), in partnership with the leading London mediation training charity The Society of Mediators (UK) (the Society), to receive foundational mediation training accredited by the Civil Mediation Council (UK) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
The Society’s Faculty – led by Jonathan Dingle FRSA and Andrea Barnes – trained a large number of mediators in recent years in a series of courses in Sandton and online, and has worked across Africa.
Who should attend?
This online course is specifically for anyone:
- Wishing to act as party representatives in mediation proceedings;
- Wishing to train as certified mediators through Recognised Mediation Organisations (RMOs) in South Africa such as the Association.[1]
CPD
- 40 CPD hours;
- Validated by the Society.

Attend online via Zoom.

Monday to Friday, 23 to 27 March 2026.

ONLINE OBSERVATIONS / PROFESSIONAL DEMONSTRATIONS
Typically attended by 150 to 200 people from around the world, these online observation and fluency training sessions are suitable for all mediators and those simply curious about mediation.
Dates
- Tuesday, 10 February 2026 – observe a business mediation;
- Wednesday, 1 April 2026 – “The April Fool”, observe a workplace mediation;
- Thursday, 4 June 2026 – “The Low Down”, observe a partnership mediation.
Time
Rooms open at 17:00 and the event begins at 17:15 London time – the equivalent SAST time will vary depending on UK daylight saving.
